We’re firing up for another fabulous winter season on the beautiful Bellarine Peninsula.
If cosy fires, hot chocolates, mulled wine, hearty food and brisk sea air are your thing, then
book a snug pod or cabin, load up your van or camper, and begin plotting your winter escape.
Did you know you can now enjoy toasted marshmallows by the campfire at our Portarlington park?
Fire pits are available to hire through the cooler months in a designated area of our Portarlington park. See more info here:
Start planning your winter getaway – here are a few of our must-do experiences to ignite your winter adventure on the Bellarine.
1. Have a craic at Celtic song and dance!
The National Celtic Festival makes a welcome return to Portarlington on the long weekend in June.
The festival is a major highlight of winter on the Bellarine, bringing music, dancing, food and fun to the town across four big days.
Showcasing the best of Celtic culture and folk from across Australia, as well as internationally, the festival is a ticketed event. However there are also plenty of free attractions including family entertainment, market stalls and food vendors for all to enjoy.
Looking for somewhere to stay? Take advantage of discounted camping rates and the free shuttle bus. See the festival’s website for info and bookings – https://www.nationalcelticfestival.com/accomodation.
Come for the weekend or just for the day – warm your souls and delight your senses!
2. Ride the Polar Express for Christmas in July
The Polar Express train ride, which sold out last Christmas, is returning to the Bellarine Railway this winter for Christmas in July.
Families will be captivated by an immersive theatrical experience that brings iconic characters to life. There will be carolling onboard the train and a magical visit from Santa, each moment capturing the essence of the movie.
Departing from Queenscliff between 29 June and 7 July, this is likely to be very popular again so get in quick and secure your golden ticket.
3. Head for the snow!
Not long now until snow falls at Adventure Park. Discover a glowing winter wonderland of snow, lights, fire and ice. Adventure Park’s Winter Glow Festival is on from 22 June to 21 July, which includes the school holidays. Why not head down before school break and beat the holiday crowds?
Adventure Park is just a short drive down the Bellarine Highway at Wallington and is sure to delight visitors of all ages.
